TAT Leads IDX Project B. FRIEND Artists in Participation at the “Taipei Rainbow Festival”

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in collaboration with artists from the IDX Project B. FRIEND, has participated in the 7th “Taipei Rainbow Festival” held from October 25th to 27th, 2024, at the An-Nek Park in Shilin District, Taipei, Taiwan. At the opening ceremony, TAT was honored by the presence of Mr. Narong Bunseentiara, Director-General of the Thai Trade and Economic Office in Taipei, who joined in the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Ms. Sarima Jindamaya, Head of TAT Taipei Office, communicated the upcoming festival events, the extension of visa-free periods to 60 days, and the distribution of Thai tourism products such as travel bags, pig patterned T-shirts, boar hats, and Amazing Thailand umbrellas to festival attendees.

Throughout the three-day event, TAT Taipei Office set up an information booth and collaborated with KKDay to promote and sell tourism products. They also organized fan meetings, autograph sessions, and participated in the Taiwan LGBT+ Parade to promote Thai tourism and Thai tourism products to the LGBTQ+ community. Additionally, TAT observed visitor sentiments and feedback to enhance future tourism promotion activities in Thailand.

The “Taipei Rainbow Festival” is the largest and most popular pride event in Taiwan, attracting a significant number of tourists from Taiwan, Asia, and around the world. As Taiwan is the first place in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage, this year’s event saw the participation of over 180,000 tourists from Taiwan, Asia, and globally. The festival featured a variety of activities, including a Rainbow Market, Rainbow Party, and Rainbow Parade.
